Upwind topics include picking the better side of the beat, strategies for playing shifts, risk vs. reward, laylines, current, strategic rules of thumb, light vs. heavy air, tactical principles, boat-to-boat (and boat-to-fleet) positioning, covering, bad air and more! Downwind topics include wind shift strategy for runs, the value of more wind, finding your next puff (and lull), laylines, strategic rules of thumb, light air vs. heavy air, tactical positioning, recognizing wind shadows, fleet management, reaching strategies and more!. Cost is $65 members/$75 non-members and includes pastries and beverages in the morning as well as boxed lunches. Non-members can register by calling the CYC Monroe Front Desk at 312-861-7777.

Jackson Park Yacht Club will be hosting the Hands-on day 2 Safety at Sea seminar. Pre-requisites: This is an offshore hands-on course, intended to be taken after one of the following: The student has taken an in-person Offshore Safety at Sea course in the last year. The student has taken an online Offshore Safety at Sea course in the last year. The student had taken an International Offshore Safety at Sea course in the last five years and want to renew his/her certification.
Capacity: 30/Session
Fees: Includes morning coffee & lunch. US Sailing members are entitled to a $5.00 discount. JPYC members are entitled to a $10.00 discount. Advance reservations are required and space is very limited. Please provide 2nd and 3rd choices of dates. No refunds one week before seminar.
