You and all your racing crew have been fully trained with an Online, 1, or 2 day US Sailing Safety At Sea seminar. But what about your casual crew? Your neighbor who once a year hops on board to help you with the delivery back from Mackinac? Your Significant Other who has no interest in racing, but is keen to enjoy a calm sail or motor to Saugatauk?
If you, the highly trained racer, is the one who suddenly becomes incapacitated or goes overboard, can your mate take over? The Safety For Cruising Couples seminar is geared specifically toward the team where onboard there is both an experienced, well-trained boater and a less experienced boater who has always relied on the other for essential operations of the boat. The six-hour course is open to all area boaters – sail and power. If this sounds like you, register today for Safety for Cruising Couples.
The seminar will be led by award-winning Sheila McCurdy of Middletown, RI. Sheila has raced and cruised more than 100,000 miles offshore, including 18 Newport-Bermuda races. She is a Past Commodore of the Cruising Club of America, chairs the National Faculty for the Training Division of US SAILING, is a Passage Making Instructor Trainer, and moderates both Safety for Cruising Couples and Safety At Sea seminars across the country. Sheila is a member of the US Sailing Board of Directors and is on their Safety at Sea Committee.
